Basic Book Keeping with Sam Plumpton

Saturday 19th November 2016, 19:30 - 21:00
Romanby WI Hall, Northallerton, DL7 8BJ

A not scary introduction to the basics of keeping financial records for your small business.

Sam Plumpton is a mum of one living in Northallerton. She is a qualified accountant currently working part time at Colin Hutson Accountancy Limited in Northallerton. Sam also runs a Book Keeping Company from home, so understands the pressures facing self-employed mothers.

During this informative evening Sam will cover the basics of book keeping -

  • How to record my transactions?
  • What do I need to keep?
  • When do I need to do 'my books'?
  • HMRC basics
  • Do's and Don'ts
  • When do I need to pay a proper book keeper? How much should I be paying, and for what?
  • Top tips - how does Sam Plumpton cope with running a business and being a mum?

Tea/coffee and cake will fuel this informative evening. With time at the end for questions, feedback and networking. This talk will be very beneficial to makers featuring in the Made by Mummy Markets programme but non-crafty businesses are very welcome to attend, the basic principles under discussion will still apply.
